  The Asian American Pacific Islander Coalition of North Bay (AAPIC) invites community members and allies to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) - a yearly gathering dedicated to connection, reflection, and collective action for the year ahead. A complimentary lunch featuring Asian dishes will be served.

  Starting a business—or growing an existing one—comes with important legal decisions. One of the first and most critical choices is selecting the right legal entity structure for your business.

  This free seminar is designed specifically for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) small business owners and new entrepreneurs in Sonoma County who want a clear, practical introduction to legal entity formation and what it means for their business.

  What You’ll Learn

  A legal fellow, Mark Johnson, from Legal Aid of Sonoma County will cover:

  • Types of legal entities (such as sole proprietorships, partnerships, LLCs, and corporations)

  • Key elements of each type of legal entity

  • Important considerations when choosing the right structure for your business

  • Basic steps involved in forming a legal entity

  There will also be time for:

  • Legal Q&A for small business owners

  • Brief individual questions

  • An opportunity to sign up for a free attorney consultation through Legal Aid of Sonoma County

  About the Presenters & Partners

  Legal Aid of Sonoma County has served Sonoma County’s low-income and vulnerable populations for over 65 years, assisting more than 3,000 adults and 2,000 children each year with crisis legal needs, including housing stability, domestic violence prevention, disaster recovery, and access to health and employment.

  This seminar is part of Legal Aid of Sonoma County’s Small Business Equity and Recovery Program, presented in collaboration with AAPIC North Bay.

  AAPIC North Bay is a nonprofit organization that connects, supports, and advocates for Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in the North Bay through education, civic engagement, and community-based programs.

  Welcoming the Lunar New Year

  Join us at Sonoma Clean Poweron Saturday, February 28, 2026 for an afternoon of culture, food, and community as we welcome the Lunar New Year together. This event is part of our AAPIC Connect Cultural Makers Series, and is presented with support of the Sonoma Vietnamese Association (SOVA) and the Redwood Empire Chinese Association (RECA). 

  Celebrating our Many Traditions
  

  Lunar New Year is celebrated across many Asian cultures as a time of renewal, family connection, and shared hope for the year ahead. We will be centering Chinese and Vietnamese celebrations of Lunar New Year and Tết — while also recognizing and welcoming the diverse ways our communities mark the beginning of a new year. This event includes:

  • Potluck luncheon - AAPIC will provide main dishes; guests are welcome to bring a side dish to share

  • Vietnamese spring roll tasting and demonstration

  • Calligraphy demonstration  

  • Youth activities & crafts including mini scrolls and games for children and families.
