Manzanar: The Wartime Photographs of Ansel Adams

On February 19, the Day of Remembrance,Sonoma County Museum opened its exhibition Manzanar: The Wartime Photographs of Ansel Adams. These are photos Adams shot at Manzanar, one of the Japanese American concentration camps.Sonoma County Japanese American Citizens League (JACL)is collaborating with the museum to supplement the exhibit with some artifacts, docent training, and presentations related to the camp experience.Museum hours are Wednesday to Sunday, 11 am-5 pm, except some holidays.Check details.

Sonoma County JACLis offering tours of the exhibit, guided by members of their Speakers Bureau, at no cost to JACL members. They are limited to 15 free admissions per tour, and the spots will be filled on a first come first served basis. Tours are available on March 10, March 19,and May 7. See details on this webpage.
