Read a brief history of bonsai at the website of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in the U.K. “While the word bonsai is of Japanese origin, the concept of this art form actually took root in China. Since the Yin and Zhou dynasties nearly 3,000 years ago, people in China have cultivated ornamental plants to imitate natural scenery within gardens – a craft known as penjing.”
Read a post on the website of Hooked on Bonsai – The Therapeutic Effects of Bonsai Care on Mental Health. “The effects of bonsai care on mental health are embodied in the ancient art form of bonsai trees. These miniature trees, thriving both indoors and outdoors, are more than just decorative plants; they represent a therapeutic journey, intertwining art with the natural world.”
