This is the last of a 3-part series bringing Jewish and Asian American communities together to fight racism by building alliances.
The November 5th event – Facing the Challenges… Together (The Future) – will be the last of the series. In a community-in-conversation format, we will explore ways minority communities can mutually support each other as we face threats to our well-being. How can we collaborate on issues we all care about?
Multi-ethnic refreshments will be served, seating is limited. Free with required registration – https://www.cstsr.org/event/building-alliances-3
If you missed the last 2 parts, here’s more information.
In the first part of the series in September – Sonoma Stories: Starting Over in a Strange Land (“The Past”), we discovered the fascinating histories of Jewish, Japanese, Chinese, and Filipino immigration to Sonoma County. How we all came here, overcame obstacles, and thrived. If you missed it, read about the speakers, and watch the recording, and the photos.
In the second part of the series in October – Racism: From Underground to “In Your Face” (“The Present”), we discussed antisemitism and anti-Asian racism that are rising after staying underground for decades. How bad is it? How are we feeling the effects? How are our youth experiencing it? Hear individuals from different backgrounds share their experiences and from organizations working to stop hate. Read about the speakers, and watch the recordingย and the photos.
