OVERVIEW

This is an ongoing community leaders gathering. Learn from guest speakers, listen and collaborate. The May 27 workshop will be an ICE Response Training.

This training for Faith and Non-Profit leaders and their key staff will help you prepare your organization for what to do during an ICE visit.

The training provides clear practical guidance on how to respond if U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrive at your place of worship or non-profit in California. It helps you safeguard the rights of the people at your location and comply with federal and California Law.

The training provides practical information on:

  • What to do before ICE arrives
  • What to do when ICE leaves
  • Best Practices for establishing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for responding to an ICE visit
  • How to educate people about their rights
  • Understand Warrants and Subpoenas
  • How to document what happens
  • And how to support affected employees, volunteers, or others, etc

The training also includes an experiential exercises that let participants practice what to do in various situations.
