AAPIC in the North Bay Bohemian: Lanterns & Vines: Local AAPI Chefs and Vintners Shine

05/16/2026 8:59 AM | Anonymous member (Administrator)

We are deeply honored to be featured in the North Bay Bohemian ahead of our inaugural Lanterns & Vines Gala 2026. In the article, writer Michael Giotis beautifully captures the spirit behind this event — a celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander culture through food, wine, community, and joyful expression.

The feature highlights the incredible lineup of Sonoma County chefs, vintners, and community leaders coming together for this special evening, including:

  • Martin Yan
  • Amanda Hoang
  • Tony Ounpamornchai
  • Michelle Wood
  • Sylvanna Misling
  • Lise Asimont

The article also reflects on the growing visibility and vibrancy of the AAPI community in Sonoma County and the importance of creating spaces where culture can be celebrated openly and authentically. As AAPIC’s Lisa Johnson-Foster shared in the piece, “This event is for anyone who loves food and wine and who wants to experience something out of the ordinary.”

We are grateful to Michael Giotis and the North Bay Bohemian for helping share the story behind this event and the broader work of AAPIC North Bay.
