The Cambodian Community Elders Longevity Ceremony is a traditional ritual of humanity, morality, and showing respect and gratitude to their elders for raising them

Program

Day 1 – Sat, Aug 3

2:30 – 4:00 pm

Gathering / Preparation

Parade the Elders 3 times around the standing Buddha

The Elders place themselves in their arranged seats

Chanting/Water Blessing (changing clothes)

5:30 – 7:00 pm

Performance – The Blessing Dance

Prayer / Chanting to the Universe, the Spirit of the Ancestors, and the land.

Day 2 – Sun, Aug 4

9:30 am – 12:00 pm

Gathering

Alms Offering to 20+ Buddhist monks

Chanting – Giving 5 precepts to laypeople

Majestic (Monks) Dining

12:00 – 4:00 pm

Lunch for the laypeople

Live band to celebrate life
