Program
Fri, Apr 12 – Welcoming Buddhist Chanting at 4 pm
Sat & Sun, Apr 13 & 14
- 9 am – Offering gifts and food for the Monks’ blessing
- 10 am – Give Alms to the Monks
- Buddhist Monks give Percepts and Blessing to lay people
- 12 noon – Lunch for lay people
- 1:30-2:30 pm – Welcoming New Angels Parade and Ordaining the Sand Mounts
- Followed by live band music and dancing until 6 pm
Giving alms to the Monks
Mon, Apr 15
- 9 am-12 noon – Morning chanting, giving offerings and alms to Buddhist Monks, and lunch followed.
Tue, Apr 16
- 9 am-12 noon – Repeating morning ritual
- Closing the Old New Year with the disordination of the Sand Mounts, water blessing to the Buddhas, and releasing all the old Karma.
