SSU Fall Gallery Gathering featuring the Art of Mimi Chen Ting

Sonoma State University invites the public to the Fall Gallery Gathering at the Art Gallery on campus on Thu, October 19, 2023, 5-7 pm.
There will be food and wine, outdoor games, art activities, and live DJ. Free and open to all ages. Complimentary beverages and bites will be served. Wines graciously donated by Imagery Estate Winery.
Featuring Exhibition of Asian-American Artist Mimi Chen Ting “This Side of Blue”
This Side of Blue focuses overdue attention on artist Mii Chen Ting (1946-2022). A Chinese-American artist who immigrated to California in 1965, Ting often interwove Eastern and Western aesthetics in her work. Ting’s dynamic paintings, which range from figurative works to abstract compositions, explore themes including immigration, womanhood, place, and belonging.
The Art Gallery is located on the north end of the campus, at location #3 (Parking Lot A). Enter the campus from either the North Entrance from Rohnert Park Express Way or the South Entrance on East Cotati Avenue. Parking permit is required and can be purchased at the Parking Information Center or a machine/kiosk, or on the Parking Management Bureau website. NOTE: Purchase a “General Parking Permit” at $5 for after 5 pm even though Lot A is a “Reserved Parking” lot.
